School board introduces new facilities director

The new facilities chief is George Parker, who comes to Davis from the Yuba Community College District, where he served as director of facilities planning from 2009 to 2014. Parker also serves on the Yuba City Planning Commission, so he comes with a degree of background concerning local government and land-use issues. Parker worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1992 to 2000, where he was involved with federal construction projects in a variety of settings. He is also taking over two projects that were initiated under his predecessor.

Agents Find 45 Pounds of Cocaine in Car at Sac International, 6 Arrested

Court approved surveillance of her cell phone showed that she was on the move two weeks later, again in a rental car from Costa Mesa headed north. Kim ended up in a Hampton Hotel and Suites off Highway 99 in Yuba City where a surveillance team with the Sacramento County Sheriff High Intensity Drug Trafficking Unit kept an eye on her and three men, Justin Byun, 19, Julius Caubat, 24, and June Chungil, 20. The complaint says two men identified as Gurdeep Singh, 36, of Yuba City and Kamaljit Billen, also 36, pulled up in a Toyota sedan.

Loveland Parks and Rec Director Named

Anderson is currently the Operations Manager for the Parks and Recreation department in Sacramento, Calif. Previously, she served the City of Flagstaff, Ariz. As Parks and Recreation Director and Community Enrichment Services Director from 2005 to 2013. As Loveland's Parks and Recreation Director, Anderson will oversee the work of nearly 100 regular employees and earn $127,500 annually in her new position. Anderson replaces long-time director Gary Havener who held the position for 35 years.

Man sought in connection with shootings

A man and a woman were shot, and a possible suspect was being sought, early Friday morning. A woman called 911 at just before 6 a.m. to request an ambulance for a gunshot victim, then a second call was placed for a second victim, said Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal. Neither victim was being identified; the woman was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and the man was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Yuba City. The man was identified as James Carman, 61, and Royal said he was possibly armed and dangerous.
