About: Longview, WA

Longview is located in southwestern Washington at the convergence of the Cowlitz and Columbia rivers. It is home to both Lake Sacajawea and Mount Coffin, a native ancestral burial ground for the local indigenous people. It was mostly farmland and wilderness until 1918 when Robert A. Long moved his Long-Bell Lumber Company to the area. The town was incorporated in 1934. Notable residents have included the inventor of the Aerocar Moulton Taylor and author of When Corporations Rule the World David Korten.
